Y’all. This place is so cool. It is the oldest watering hole in the state of Nevada and you can tell; you feel transported back in time as soon as you walk in and realize the doorknob is at your knees - because it’s old enough that they put them that low to prevent horses from coming in. They have a Willie Nelson cowboy hat, a famous bra hanging from an antler, and a diamond dusted mirror that predates the establishment from Scotland. The bar and a few light fixtures are original - including the oil lamp chandelier, which they light every New Year’s Eve. I wouldn’t know all this if Ginger, the quirkily overalled bartender slash historian hadn’t satiated a curious tourist’s questions. (Her corduroy overalls had little mushrooms on them!) if you have a chance to pop in for a mug or two, you should.

Nevada’s oldest saloon is the cutest place, so much history it really takes you back. Stopped in for an afternoon drink on the way to Lake Tahoe and enjoyed their outdoor seating area. Really nice to see history preserved for future generations.

The town of Genoa Nevada. The oldest town in Nevada. Close to Carson City and the Minden/Gardnerville area. The Genoa bar and saloon. It is a one of a kind old time bar. Its' history is rich. The decor and building much the same as a hundred years ago, alebit electricity, juke box, and pool table. The bar counter rigid and worn. Ginger the bartender was friendly and warm. For me a Budweiser and a couple of shots of makers whiskey. Square dancing night across the street. In all a fantastic time. A place you need to visit if you like history and bars with grit

Everything you would picture if you were going to an 1800’s saloon! Bartender was quick and friendly. I loved the wood burning stove that on a chilly day heated the whole place! There were/are outdoor heating options. The hot cider with jack Daniel’s tasted good

This is an absolute MUST STOP for anyone passing through the area on their way to Tahoe or otherwise. I mean, it's the oldest saloon in Nevada and it's just brimming with cool factor. The historic building it resides in just oozes with charm and you really need to spend some quality time looking at all the cool photos and doodads all over the walls. Of course, the main reason to come to a fine watering hole like this is to quench your thirst and I can assure you, they have a fine selection of beers on tap, wines, whiskeys and more and they can make plenty of great cocktails including a Picon Punch - the official Northern Nevada drink! Come with friends if you can as it's always a great time here regardless of what time you show up and at night, there's often live music and tons of people cutting up the rug. Need I say, I highly recommend you paying this fine establishment.
